Lira Rally Shows Turkey Growth Catching Up to China

(Bloomberg) — The Turkish lira, which trailed emerging market currencies from the Brazilian real to the Russian ruble last year, is attracting bullish recommendations after first-quarter economic growth approached that of China.Barclays Capital, Societe Generale SA and UniCredit SpA say the lira will rise against the dollar in 2010, with forecasts ranging from 6 percent to 12 percent.

Knight Boosts Options Staff With Six Traders From Newedge

(Bloomberg) — Knight Capital Group Inc., which executes the most U.S. equity orders by volume, hired six options traders from Newedge Group and Pali Capital to expand its equity derivatives business.The team will be led by Adam Templeton and Ryan Sylvester from Newedge, where they were co-heads of the strategic options group, according to Reginald Browne, Knight’s co-head of listed derivatives.

The security, which has a strike price 74 percent above yesterday’s close, has been the most-traded among VIX contracts for the past two days.

Miami Money Manager Arrested in K1 Probe
