(Bloomberg) — Knight Capital Group Inc., which executes the most U.S. equity orders by volume, hired six options traders from Newedge Group and Pali Capital to expand its equity derivatives business.The team will be led by Adam Templeton and Ryan Sylvester from Newedge, where they were co-heads of the strategic options group, according to Reginald Browne, Knight’s co-head of listed derivatives.

Before You Invest (Crain’s) — CME Group Inc. announced Wednesday that it was forming a joint venture with Dow Jones & Co. to make a global financial index services business.The announcement came after a week of speculation that a deal, specifically one in which CME would buy Dow Jones’ index business, was in the works.The Chicago-based futures and options exchange has apparently been eyeing some kind of deal with Dow Jones for months.CME Group would own 90% of the joint venture, which will be called CME Group Index Services.
