(Crain’s) — Morningstar Inc.’s top executives, including founder and CEO Joe Mansueto, took pay cuts last year as the company’s profitability slipped.Pay for Mr. Mansueto, who owns 52.5% of the financial information provider and declines bonuses, declined about 6% to $100, 202 last year from $106,145 in 2008, according to the Chicago-based company’s proxy filing Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.Larger pay reductions came for three of the four next-highest-ranking officers.
